Cookie Box
Gamified Learning
The Challenge
Cookie Box was developing an internal platform designed to help companies create gamified learning experiences for their teams. The main challenge was designing a system flexible enough to support different types of educational content while remaining intuitive for non-technical users.
The platform needed to function both as a content management tool and as a creative workspace where course creators could build engaging experiences without feeling overwhelmed by complexity. The goal was to simplify the creation process while maintaining the playful and interactive identity of the brand.
Research & Direction
A large part of the project focused on understanding how users would structure and manage educational content inside the platform. Since courses could vary significantly depending on the client, the interface needed to support modularity and scalability without becoming visually cluttered.
The direction quickly evolved toward a system-based approach where reusable components and predefined layouts could simplify the workflow and reduce friction during course creation.
Visual Approach
The visual identity combines playful elements with a structured dashboard interface. The intention was to avoid the cold feeling often associated with enterprise tools while still keeping the platform organized and functional.
Dark backgrounds combined with vibrant accent colors helped reinforce the gamified nature of the product, while rounded components and large typography made the interface feel more approachable. The design language was built around modular cards and reusable blocks, helping maintain consistency across a large number of screens and tools.
Design & Experience
The platform was designed around the idea of modular course building. Instead of forcing users into complex editing systems, the interface provides a collection of predefined content blocks that can be combined to create different learning experiences.
Users could structure pages using components such as introductions, videos, buttons, rankings, interactive sections, and free content areas. This approach made the platform flexible while keeping the workflow easy to understand.
Navigation and hierarchy became especially important due to the amount of functionality integrated into the system. The interface needed to support content creation, user management, statistics, alerts, and course organization without overwhelming the user.
A major focus throughout the project was reducing cognitive load. Information was grouped clearly, repeated interaction patterns were used consistently, and the layout was designed to make navigation feel predictable and intuitive.
Rather than designing isolated screens, the project was approached as a scalable design system where components, layouts, and interactions could be reused across the platform.
Final Result
The final result was a modular gamified learning platform that allowed Cookie Box to create and manage educational experiences more efficiently while maintaining a strong visual identity.
The system simplified the course creation workflow through reusable structures and intuitive navigation, making the platform accessible even for users without technical experience. At the same time, the interface preserved the playful and engaging tone that defines the Cookie Box brand.
Reflection
This project helped me think more deeply about scalability and system design. Working on a platform with multiple interconnected tools pushed me to focus less on individual screens and more on consistency, hierarchy, and long-term usability.
If I revisited the project, I would further refine the workflow through user testing and explore ways to make the course creation process even more flexible without increasing complexity.
